Bookapedia Book Club February Session Recap
NIROW’s February edition of Bookapedia saw another engaging session, bringing together young readers for an afternoon of learning, creativity, and meaningful conversation. We explored the novel Piecing Me Together by Renee Watson, reflecting on identity, self-discovery, and the many experiences that shape who we are.
Through guided discussions and interactive activities, the children examined the theme of the different “pieces” that make up each person, including culture, friendships, family, dreams, and personal strengths. The session encouraged participants to share their perspectives, build confidence in expressing themselves, and appreciate the uniqueness of their own stories and those of others.
Bookapedia continues to create a safe and inclusive space where youth can connect through literature, develop critical thinking skills, and celebrate diversity within our community.
